John Murphy Award for Excellence in Copy Editing

The John Murphy Award for Excellence in Copy Editing is given annually by the Texas Daily Newspaper Association.
The award alternates every year between papers with less than 100,000 circulation and papers with more than 100,000. The winner receives $1,000. Three people have earned the award twice: Carmelita Bevill in 1987 and 1992, Hank Glamann in 1990 and 1994, and Dave Thomas in 1995 and 1997.
